RIENZIE – WEERARATNE – Born – 30th September 1928. Formerly of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and a Director of Lever Bros (Ceylon) Ltd. Worked internationally for Unilever from 1967 to 1993 and on assignments with UNDP between 1993 and 1998. Author of “The Humane Judge” a biography of the late Sir Thomas de Sampayo KC, and “The World I Saw reflections of a lifetime of Travel”. His wife, Elaine, died in London in 2001. He leaves behind four children – Lanthe, Hishani, Hiran and Aswini, sons-in-law; Rohan Wijewardene, Chris Kirby and David Pallister, a daughter-in-law Pauline and seven grandchildren Savan and Khema ; Eleni and Daniel; Reyhan and Anica and Sam. Remains will lie at Barney Raymond (Pvt) Limited Parlour from 11.00 a.m. on Friday 17th June 2016 and the Cremation will take place at 5.00 p.m. at the General Cemetery Kanatte.
